When a patient calls in for an appointment, the
operator can look at available appointment times for one provider,
an entire clinic area or all offices. In our example,
five physicians in a clinic area are displayed above the appointments
times.
Search begins with today's date.
Time slots are user defined. Our example shows
four 15 minute appointments per hour.
Daily starting and ending times are user defined.
To book an appointment, simply select an open
time slot and enter part of the patient name. A scan look-up window
opens where you can select the correct patient. Then, proceed
to entering a reason for the appointment.
Reason codes are user defined. They include a
default appointment time length which can be overridden (i.e.
default new patient appointment of 30 minutes can be easily lengthened
to 45 minutes).
Color is used to differentiate appointment types
allowed at different times of the day. For example, a physician
may want to see new patients between 2:00 and 3:30 on Wednesdays
and Thursdays. An operator will need clearance to override that
setting.
